RC Airplanes – A Premier Hobby
By William T Souza

RC Airplanes, is a premier hobby. What makes it so attractive to most hobbyists is the fact that almost any young adult can handle an RC airplane. One of the cons of flying RC airplanes is the wind factor. If it is too windy it will be very challenging to fly and land your RC airplanes.

There’s such a verity of models to choose from that it’s enjoyable for the beginner as well as for the very advanced RC airplane hobbyist. Beginners generally start with a slow moving airplane that is powered by electric, gas or wind. Whichever one you choose I don’t think it will make much of a difference. You will be entering a hobby that has lasted through the years as a hobby that is affordable for most people.

Model airplanes come in hundreds of sizes and shapes. Some models have one fixed wing while others may have two or three wings. Some airplanes are sailplanes with large wingspans that catch the wind and rise up to great heights. They float effortlessly on the invisible air currents. There are also amphibious airplanes that are at home on the water as well as land.

There are some electric airplanes that are very fast. The faster electric models use an electric motor that is brushless. There is less drag in these motors that’s why they are faster. I was looking at a jet model that comes in an almost ready to fly kit. It has a brushless electric motor that is included in a hyperflow ducted fan system. The fuselage is made of lightweight fiberglass. This little beauty will reach a speed of 100+ mph.

There are different types of propulsion for the model airplane. Some types of propulsion pull the airplane through the sky while others push the airplane. Whichever one you choose you will enjoy the moment while you pilot your RC airplane through the sky.

When you purchase your model Airplane, a controller is required. The controllers have many different brands such as JR, DX, Futaba, Hitec, Spektrum and Tactic to name a few. A good idea will be to read the controllers manual then take your airplane to a safe area and then proceed to practice with it until you get an understanding of how the airplane works. You will be able to maneuver better with practice.

I have provided you with some basic knowledge of the RC airplane. It’s a fantastic hobby. You can build your airplane from a kit although it takes longer to get your airplane up and flying. You can also buy a ready to fly kit that will require very little assembly. It is up to you which type of radio controlled airplane you choose. It is an exhilarating hobby to be enjoyed by you alone or with friends and family.

I was born in 1938 in Oakland Ca. The toys we had were a lot different then the toys children have today. We never had radio controlled toys of any kind. When I was a young teenager I remember having a model plane I put together myself. It had a gasoline engine (a spitfire) and the airplane was controlled with two wires that was attached to a handle. I could only control the airplanes ascent and descent. It was really a thrill controlling my own airplane. What a change I have seen in my lifetime. That is why I am so enthused with the RC products that I offer you. Please click on the link and check out our products. RC Airplanes
